you are going to love CHICAGO. The Award Winning musical comedy still playing in London after 15yrs. Neptune as usual, have managed to bring out the humour of this theatrical masterpiece. Chicago, a tale of greed, murder and treachery features a dazzling musical / dancing score, and an exhilarating script. We have colour, glitz, glamour, an on-stage 12-piece Jazz Band, and more than a few surprises! Set in the ‘razzle-dazzle’ roaring twenties, Chicago is basedon the true story of murderesses Beulah Annan (Roxie) and Belva Gaertner (Velma) and written by reporter Maurine Dallas Watkins, assigned to cover the 1924 trials. Both Annan and Gaertner were represented by Lawyers Lillian Scott Stewart & W.W. O’brien, composite character of Billy Flynn, the slickest lawyer with a talent for turning notorious defendants into local legends. Velma and Roxie vie for the spotlight, headlines, and publicity, to catapult them to fame, freedom, and stage careers.
